Photo Editor Job Description
Tasks:
- Collaborate with the editor and team members to determine photography requirements.
- Assign photography projects, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Review, edit, and enhance photos as needed.
- Select images for publication and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Ensure all photography assignments are completed and edited on time for publication.
- Use photo manipulation tools to achieve the highest quality results.
- Properly maintain photo equipment and manage the procurement of supplies as necessary.
- Communicate with editors, photographers, and advertising representatives to provide guidance on upcoming projects.
- Stay updated on advancements in image editing technologies.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated work experience as a photo editor.
- Extensive knowledge of digital technology and proficiency in photo editing software (e.g., Photoshop, Pixlr, Affinity Photo).
- Strong photo editing skills supported by an impressive portfolio.
- In-depth understanding of computer imaging, photographic techniques, studio operations, and color composition.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and storytelling.
- Strong time management and leadership abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in photography, visual arts, digital media, or a related field.
